Leadership, Tech and Career Conversation with Vukani Mngxati, CEO at Accenture Africa

Lead. Learn. Share. Soar!
I am excited to extend this invitation for you to join us for our second Leadership, Tech and Career Conversation. We’ll be in conversation with Vukani Mngxati, the CEO at Accenture in Africa on 29 February 2024. The conversation is titled, Unlocking Growth Through Tech - Opportunities for Business and Personal Growth in the Age of Digital and AI. The joy of these conversations lies in the opportunity that participants have to engage the leader that is our guest, creating a dynamic and engaging conversation.
In an ever changing world, where technology’s massive strides make it urgent to decode IT, we’re excited to have (re)launched the Inno Yolo Leadership, Technology and Career Conversation Series and to bring you this next installment.
I am particularly interested in introducing the leader that is Vukani Mngxati to you. A leader under whose stewardship I had the opportunity to grow and thrive due to the space created for me to be inspired every day and bring my authentic self to work, leading to incredible strides in my career.

About Vukani
Vukani Mngxati is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson of Accenture in Africa. He is a seasoned business leader and technology consulting professional. He strongly advocates for investing in technology to leverage the opportunities presented by developments in the technology space to drive growth and help resolve business and social challenges. In recognition of his skills and experience, he was appointed to the South African Presidential Commission on the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Vukani is often sought out for his insights regarding the intersection of technology and economic growth as well as his knowledge of the South African and more broadly African markets. An accessible leader, he is conscious about the need to build an empowering culture and focus on people while also balancing the requirement for CEOs to manage commercial ratios. He is a recognized champion for gender equity.
Here’s a beloved proverb from my language and cultural group, AmaXhosa, in South Africa:
Inyathi ibuzwa kwabaphambili
Indirectly translated to preserve its meaning, this proverb can be read as follows: “Wisdom can be gleaned from those who are ahead”. However, the literal translation is that, “The buffalo can be asked of those who are further ahead”. It’s been a principle of mine my whole life to observe, learn from and seek guidance from those who have been where I want to go and that is probably the reason I have always loved this proverb. My favorite part of it is it’s reference to asking - which is something too few of us do, too rarely. This concept is also at the core of why I am passionate about bringing these leadership conversations to you.
Join us as we gather around a metaphorical fireside where we celebrate excellence, gain inspiration and broaden our sense of what is possible. Register to join us for the Inno Yolo Leadership Conversation with Vukani Mngxati. If you have already registered, I look forward to hosting you.
Joy. A simple three letter word. One that we easily forget as we rush from one check list item to another. Yet, the simple admiration of a sunrise or sunset, a flower or simply casting our eyes over the landscape towards the horizon can remind us of a simple truth: we deserve joy!
Commit to choosing joy at least once a day.
